    Kihon Happogiri Suburi

    This is a nice formal suburi series, ideal for a start of a practice session.

    1. Sonoba makko kiritsuke

    Kirioroshi in iai-goshi. Repeat 10 times with right foot forward and 10 with left.

    2. Makko uchikomi

    Kiritsuke from feet together to iai-goshi. 10 times with right foot, 10 left and 10 with changing feet.

    3. Zengogiri

    Kiritsuke in iaigoshi, making zengo (a turn) with every cut. 10 times starting with right foot and 10 starting with left.

    4. Kirigaeshi

    Kirigaeshi, changing feet with each cut. 10 times.

    5. Zenshin kotai kesagiri

    Kesagiri with right foot step, gyagy kesagiri, kesagiri with left foot step, gyagy kesagiri, kesagiri far down left with right foot step into migi hanmi, gyagy kesagiri, kesagiri with right foot step back, gyagy kesagiri, kirioroshi. Repeat a few times.

    6. Nimaigiri

    Cut to head, while stepping forward with right foot. Cut to kote, while stepping backward to left foot. 10 cuts in total.

    7. Tsuki

    Tsuki in throat, stepping with right foot. Tsuki in chest, stepping back with left foot. Use kiai. 10 tsuki in total.

    8. Shikodachi makkogiri

    Kirioroshi in wide "riding" posture, feet widely apart, thigs horizontal, knees vertical, back straight. 10 cuts.

    End with yoko chiburi.
