Hi there! Many people are now using the macintosh WAIStation program to access WAIS servers all over the world. Several have reported a bug in WAIStation. Currently WAIStation must be installed on the same disk as your system folder. Otherwise it is not able to establish any TCP connections. I will try to fix this bug soon. In the mean time, please bear with us. Also, the .hqx file cannot be decoded with BinHex 4.0 or 5.0 because of a known bug with long filenames in those programs. Use the "Decode BinHex File..." option in StuffIt's "Other" menu, or almost any other BinHex decoder except BinHex itself. Finally, note that WAIStation requires MacTCP from Apple. A good way to find out if MacTCP is correctly configured is to try to open a connection somewhere using NCSA Telnet-MacTCP. A copy of this application is located in this directory. MacTCP is *not* compatible with earlier, non-MacTCP versions of NCSA Telnet. (Those versions have their own TCP drivers built in which conflict with MacTCP.)
