According to the manufacturer: "ПСС-1 Self-Propelled Snow Clearing Train «ПСС-1» is intended for clearing railroad station tracks, turnout switches and railway track necks from snow and contaminants, with loading into the body and unloading in the designated areas." This train can act as a locomotive to move huge snow ploughs or rotary snow blowers as well as act much like a huge vacuum cleaner that sucks snow and debris from the tracks and points.
