These class 592 diesel multiple units are used in traffic from Porto São Bento up along the Douro river to the wine growing regions on upper Douro. The train makes an incredible noise with its engines. It has four big German MAN diesel engines. Picture at Porto São Bento station 11.3.2017 by Ilkka Siissalo.

Another view of a class 592 diesel at São Bento. In addition to the Portuguese CP, also the Spanish RENFE uses this same class of trains. They were built 1981-84 and CP has leased these trains from RENFE. In these two pictures the train is seen as they are now in 2017 after renovation.
