In East London you have the Hackney Marshes and Blackheath. In West London, there is Richmond Park which has many great sites, but watch out for the deer poo. My regular location is Epsom Downs, a few miles South West of Greater London. I think it's the best venue, but then I would say that. There's always a crowd up there on Saturday/Sunday afernoons, and a few people about in the summer evenings. Similarly, you can almost always find someone at Blackheath or Hackney. Richmond Park tends to attract a lot of "family fun" fliers. Cheers Andy Andy Wardley || . Check out 'the hill' (from which you get a vista of the capital), on it you'll find MANY kiters, from all walks of life and at all levels. There is a great sports field over the hill on which to do some buggying even (I havent tried it myself, but have seen others!), and most days there are every assortment of kites up from simple single liners through to quads, peels, multiple stacked flexis (my current favourite!) and dual line sport stunters. If you're ever that way on a Sunday afternoon, check it out, it is a great place to chill out with the rest of the kiting fraternity - though it does get VERY crowded - and is plagued with plenty of little legs - so watch out.
