Excerpts below. --------------------------------------------------- "I was very pleased to see liberty, equality, freedom, and justice ranked at 247, 289, 365, and 402, respectively. For far too long DXers had neglected to acknowledge the place of abstract concepts at DXpeditions. However, I believe justice was ranked a bit higher than necessary. At the Society of Idaho DXers, we find that an occasional unjustified random beating can really liven up a DXpedition when reception conditions are poor." (Dillon Hollister) "What? No hampsters?! We always take hampsters or other small rodents on our DXpeditions. When they pass out in their cages, you know you have been DXing too long. Also, if a DXpedition gets snowed in, hampsters can be made into a highly nutritious stew. If those Michigan DXers had had hampsters in 1989, they wouldn't have had to resort to cannabalism." (Hilary Bender) "I agree with the author. From my experience, too, soap should be ranked number one, before a receiver. When fellow DXpeditioners remember their soap, eating and sleeping, as well as DXing, is much more pleasant." (Terry Van Reis) "I don't have a stuffed bunny. Is a stuffed tiger acceptable?" (Ray Ostrand) "Why a trombone? We've never taken anything bigger than a clarinet on our DXpeditions." (Rick McKenna) "At the Union of Virginia DXers, we never take along campstoves, cooking & eating utensils, or any of that stuff. Instead, to promote male-bonding among our members, at meal time we sit in a circle with our receivers in the middle and eat raw meat with our bare hands."
