Veri-signer (by way of a rubber-stamped signature) is Carlos Palenque Avils, Presidente Ejecutivo of Radio Television Popular, the net that owns this station. If my memory serves me correctly, Palenque was a (losing) candidate in last May's Bolivian presidential elections. (First QSL I have signed by a presidential candidate!) Power is 10kw, address is Casilla 8704 or Calle Juan de la Riva 1527, La Paz. Fax is (591-2)356785. Letter says there will be a special broadcast for foreign listeners called "Club DX Metropolitana" on January 22 at 2100 and 0500 Bolivian time (0100 and 0900 UTC). Each broadcast will last two hours. The 0100 broadcast is unlikely here in North America unless South American reception is very good, but the 0900 one should make it in. I just heard them again at this time a couple weeks ago. As to the dates, I find it confusing that they listed 2100 ahead of 0500 in the letter. To be certain, I would check each time, 0100 and 0900 on both 11/22 and 11/23 UTC dates. (Don Moore) ECUADOR: Radio Oriental 4780 Nice letter plus full-data green/black QSL card & two photos, one an aerial view of Napo in 3 months for Sp rpt. V/s L. Enrique Esp!n E., Director General. Says my report was the first to arrive at this new station (!) and especially memorable to him as I told about my 1985 visit to Napo. Station address is Casilla 260, Napo, Tena, Ecuador.
