Please tune in 11092.5 kHz this Friday at 2000 UTC. During the transmission (which lasts until 2300 UTC, with a break at 2100) youre invited to take part in a Quiz with some nice prizes. What about a nice video of St. Helena or 94 Edition of WRTH!! All you have to do is to listen to Radio St Helena and Station Manager Tony Leo, who is the programme presenter, answer the questions given in the programme. Send your answers together with a reception report. Be sure that your letter is postmarked no later than December 1st 1993. A total of 10 prizes will be drawn among the contestants. 1st prize is a Video of St Helena, followed by 4 94 WRTHs and 6 FDCs (commemorating R St Helenas 25th Anniversary). (Sponsors are Andy Sennitt, WRTH and SATT). The 1992 R St Helena Day had a fantastic response, in spite of poor reception conditions in Europe. More than 1.000 letters were handled by the small staff at the station. As you may know by now, most of the work is made by volounteers and Station budget is limited. Your contribution with reply postage is highly appreciated. Many of you may recall the nice reply and the beautiful QSL-card that was sent out from Saint Helena Island in the South Atlantic. There will also be a new T-shirt offer. Same prize as last year - 22 USD paid in advance either to R St Helena or to SATT in Sweden. With kind assistance from Cable&Wireless PLC, you can again listen to Radio St Helena on SW. Please remember that the transmission is in a SSB-mode. Dont forget to mail your letters no later than December 1st if you want to be one of the lucky winners. The address is just this: RADIO ST HELENA, Jamestown, St Helena Island, South Atlantic Ocean From last years mail - here is quotation from St Helena News 2nd April 1993: RATHER CHEEKY!! Robert Clarke of Phoenix, USA posted a letter to Radio St Helena, last year. The address read - Radio St Helena, Jamestown, Saint Helena (South Atlantic). A Post Office somewhere in the USA returned the letter to Mr Clarke stating Returned for better Address. Address must show country of destination. He promptly returned the letter to the Post Office with the following note: Dear Post Office. St Helena is an island, British possession, in the South Atlantic Ocean, 1555S and 540W. It has no other name. I believe mail to it goes via Ascension Island. If Napoleon could find it, so can you. Radio St Helena received the letter! This information is sent out to a selected numbers of DX-Magazines in the world. You can also find this information in various BBSs. Please make the transmission known to others. Good luck with reception on Friday 15th!
