                        I'd heard the Word (poem)
                        -------------------------

I'd heard the Word
the seed was sown
my heart was stirred
my soul was drawn

then doubt crept in
could God forgive?
great were my sins
the life I'd lived

God's Spirit moved
my heart lay bare
His mercy proved
in answered prayer

Christ's love replaced
what sin once stole
and God embraced
my newborn soul.
