S U N D A Y S N I P P E T S (tm) # 4 2 17 Sept. 95 Bought With A Price (sonnet) ---------------------------- "Bought with a price!" How awesome sound the words! The price was paid. The Master made His choice And now, as a Good shepherd, with his herds, Our Savior trains His sheep to hear His voice. We are not our own. A price was paid, And we became His sheep upon that day. Although the wolf or thief may make a raid, Yet our Good Shepherd keeps those who obey. If we are not our own, then we are His, Belonging to the One who paid that fee And if we follow close to Him, it is A certainty He'll take us to His Tree. The cross is not just what He did for thee - "Take up your cross," He says, "And follow me!" You are not your own; you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinth. 6:19-20, RSV. -------------------------------------------------------- file: /pub/resources/text/sunday.snippets: snip95-42.txt .
