New channel modes available
Mode "+e" (exception to bans)
Example:
/mode #channel +b *!*@somewhere.com combined with
/mode #channel +e *!myfriend@somewhere.com
would keep everybody from somewhere.com banned but let the user matching
"myfriend" bypass the ban and join #channel.
Mode +I (Invitations list)
Normally any channel that has been set +i (invite only) can only be joined
upon /invite from a channel operator on that channel.
Setting /mode #channel +I *!myfriend@somewhere.com allows the user
matching "myfriend" join the +i channel directly.
Other new features
- User mode +a makes your /away information visible as "Gone"
on remote servers
- the /invite -command can now be used to bypass bans and channel limit (+l)
There's also new type of uncollideable, re-oppable
!channels
available. Not all IRC clients support them yet, though. Those of you bold and
beautiful enough might want to experiment with them.
All the above modes and features can be used on IRC servers running version
2.10.0 or higher. Older servers ignore them.
Information in German
is also available.
